Pillsbury SALT is excited to welcome Cormac Ryan to the team!
Cormac’s experience includes multistate litigation, planning, audit defense and controversy issues.
He joins Pillsbury’s Sacramento office as a Senior Law Clerk.
6 Questions with Cormac:
1. Who inspires you?
At work, I am inspired by the attorneys I work with and their intelligence and dedication to complex problems. More generally, I am inspired by my wife and parents, all of whom have worked very hard in often difficult circumstances.
2. What drew you to the law?
I hoped to find a job that required complex problem-solving and research. So far, this job has more than fit the bill.
3. What aspect of State and Local Tax law do you find most interesting?
Tax law generally is always changing, and SALT has the added bonus of being different in all 50 states.
4. What is one of your most memorable / funniest / happiest times during law school?
My most memorable law school experiences were on the negotiation team, where I would get very invested in an entirely fictional undertaking.
5. What is your go-to comfort food?
My go to comfort food is a home-made burger with mushrooms and onions.
6. What do you do for fun? Any hidden talents?
I am an avid reader (fiction and non-fiction) and an avid Bay Area sports fan.
