The COST Annual Meeting is being held as a hybrid meeting with both in-person and virtual sessions from October 17 – 20, 2021. It covers all types of state and local taxes that business taxpayers are confronted with today, and provides updates on key SALT issues.
Carley is partnering with Steve Kranz (McDermott Will & Emery) to present on the topic, “An Update on Digital Services Taxes.” The speakers will analyze the state legislative proposals to impose a new type of gross receipts tax on digital advertisements and digital data collection, they will discuss the differences between the state-level taxes and the national DSTs, and they will address the ongoing litigation to invalidate the Maryland DST.
Marc is partnering with Barbara Angus (EY) and Mike Shaikh (Baker McKenzie) to present on the topic, “The Impact of the OECD Global Income Tax Reforms on State Taxation.” The speakers in this session will provide an overview of the key elements of the OECD’s global tax reform that could transform the landscape of international income taxation, and discuss the OECD Pillar One and Pillar Two proposals.
